1

Introduction

VoltGuard ("we", "our", or "the app") is a battery health monitoring application developed by ScriptUp Solutions. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and what rights you have as a user.

By installing or using VoltGuard, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

VoltGuard is designed with privacy as a core principle. The app reads battery information from your device solely to display it to you. This information is never transmitted, uploaded, or shared.
2

Permissions Explained

VoltGuard requests the following Android permissions. Each is required for a specific feature and is not used beyond that purpose.

Permission Why It's Needed
FOREGROUND_SERVICE Keeps battery monitoring active in the background and shows the persistent status notification.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE Required by Android 14+ to declare battery monitoring as a special use foreground service.
PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS Required to show per-app battery usage on the Usage screen. Must be granted manually by the user in Settings. Optional — all other features work without it.
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW Required for the Gaming Mode floating overlay that shows battery % and temperature over games.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS Required on Android 13+ to show charge alarm notifications and the persistent monitoring notification.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM Required for the Smart Charge Scheduler to notify you at a precise time when to plug in your charger.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED Restarts the battery monitoring service automatically after the device is rebooted.
WAKE_LOCK Prevents the CPU from sleeping during critical battery monitoring tasks.
VIBRATE Vibrates the device when a charge alarm is triggered.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Used by Google AdMob to serve relevant ads. Not used by VoltGuard itself for any data collection.
INTERNET Used by Google AdMob to load advertisements. VoltGuard does not make any network requests itself.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE Used on Android 9 and below only to export battery history as a CSV file. Only triggered by user action.
4

Data Storage

VoltGuard stores the following data locally on your device using a private Room (SQLite) database and Android DataStore. This data cannot be accessed by other apps.

All stored data lives in your device's private app storage. It is deleted automatically when you uninstall VoltGuard. You can also clear it manually via Settings → Apps → VoltGuard → Clear Data.
5

Advertising (Google AdMob)

VoltGuard displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob to support free access to the app. AdMob may use device identifiers to show relevant ads.

You can opt out of personalized ads at any time via your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

For more information on how Google uses data in ads, please visit: policies.google.com/technologies/ads

VoltGuard Pro (paid upgrade) removes all advertisements entirely.

What We Do NOT Do

7

Children's Privacy

VoltGuard does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The app does not collect personal information from any user of any age. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us and we will address the situation promptly.

8

Data Security

Since VoltGuard does not transmit any data externally, the primary security boundary is your device itself. All locally stored data is protected by Android's application sandbox — other apps cannot access VoltGuard's private database.

We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date to maintain the latest security protections.

You have full control over your data:

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
