This Privacy Policy explains how SmartCleaner ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the App. SmartCleaner is a storage-management utility that helps you find and remove junk files, duplicate files, large files, screenshots, leftover APKs, and app cache to free up space on your device.

To provide its core features, SmartCleaner reads certain file metadata (name, size, file path, last-modified date, and MIME type) via the Android MediaStore and file system APIs. This metadata is processed and stored only locally on your device using Room (SQLite) and DataStore, to:
None of this metadata is sent to us or to any third party. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data.

SmartCleaner shows banner ads through Google AdMob to keep the App free. AdMob may collect and process device and usage information — such as your Advertising ID, IP address, device type, and general ad-interaction data — to serve and measure ads. This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us, and Google acts as an independent controller for this data.
You can control ad personalization and reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads. For details on how Google collects and uses this data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google's own Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your data. We do not share any data with third parties except as described in Section 4 (Google AdMob), which is required for the App's ad-supported free model.
All app data (scan history, settings, preferences) is stored locally in Room/DataStore on your device and is automatically and permanently deleted when you uninstall the App. There is no server-side account or backup of this data for us to retain.
SmartCleaner is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details below and we will address it.
Since SmartCleaner does not transmit your personal files or file metadata to any server, there is no server-side data store for us to secure. Locally stored app data is sandboxed by Android's standard app-data protections.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
