We built Noor to respect your privacy

Noor is a free Islamic AI and Quran app developed by Zavi Studio. This policy explains what data the app uses, how it is handled, and what choices you have.

Short version: Your personal data — your name, location, habits, bookmarks, and prayer logs — stays on your device. We do not collect it, sell it, or share it.

What data Noor uses

Location (GPS)

Used only to detect your city for prayer times and Qibla direction. Never stored on our servers. Processed entirely on your device.

AI Chat Messages

Questions you send to Noor AI are transmitted securely to Groq (groq.com) for processing. Zavi Studio does not store or log your conversations.

📱

Device Identifiers

Google AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to serve relevant ads. You can reset or opt out via your device's ad settings.

🔔

Notification Permissions

Used only to deliver prayer time reminders, habit notifications, and Islamic event alerts. No notification content is sent to our servers.

Your Data

What stays on your device — always

Your name and profile information
Quran and Hadith bookmarks
Prayer completion logs
Islamic habit tracker data and streaks
Tasbih (dhikr) counter sessions
Umrah savings and charity goals
Quran reading progress
Dark mode and language preferences
Profile photo (stored in your device's internal storage only)

None of this data leaves your device. It is stored locally in a Room database and Android DataStore. Uninstalling the app removes all of it permanently.

Noor uses the following free, public APIs. No account or personal data is required to use them.

Aladhan API

Provides prayer times and the Islamic (Hijri) calendar. Your city name is sent as a query parameter. No personal data is transmitted.

📖

AlQuran.cloud

Provides the full Quran text in Arabic, Urdu, and English. Read-only API — no data is sent from your device other than surah number requests.

📚

HadithAPI.com

Provides Hadith collections from the 6 major books. Read-only requests by book and page number only.

🤖

Groq AI

Powers the Noor AI chat. Messages are processed by Groq's infrastructure. See Groq's Privacy Policy for details.

Google AdMob

Displays banner ads to support the app's free availability. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID. See Google's Privacy Policy.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Prayer time, habit, and Islamic event reminders
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — Deliver notifications at the precise prayer time
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / COARSE_LOCATION — Auto-detect city for prayer times and Qibla
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — Prevent Android from blocking prayer alarms on Samsung and Xiaomi devices
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Reschedule prayer alarms after device restart
INTERNET — Load Quran, Hadith, prayer times, and AI responses
FOREGROUND_SERVICE — Ensure prayer notifications are delivered reliably
WAKE_LOCK — Keep CPU alive for the brief moment needed to deliver a prayer notification

Children

Children's privacy

Noor is suitable for all ages. The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will remove it immediately.

Updates

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We will never change our core commitment: your personal data stays on your device.
