This Privacy Policy explains how MicCast: Phone to Speaker ("MicCast", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. We built MicCast to be private by default. Please read this policy together with the Google Play Data Safety section for the app.
MicCast requests the microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) permission only so it can capture your voice and play it, in real time, through your selected audio output (phone speaker, Bluetooth, wired/AUX, or USB). We ask for this permission at the moment you first start a live session, with a clear explanation — never silently and never on first launch.
The microphone audio is processed on your device and sent only to your chosen speaker. MicCast does not save recordings, does not keep a history of what you say, and does not transmit your audio to us or to any third party.
When you start a session, MicCast runs a foreground service so your microphone can keep working when the app is in the background or the screen is off. While a session is active, an ongoing notification is shown with Stop and Mute controls. The service starts only after you tap to begin, and stops when you end the session.
MicCast displays banner ads using Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect and process certain information, including your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID), IP address, general device information, and ad‑interaction/diagnostic data. This is handled by Google, not by us.
Where required by law (for example in the EEA/UK), MicCast uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your consent before personalized ads are shown, and provides a way to review your choices in the app's Settings. You can also reset or limit ad personalization from your device settings (Google → Ads).

A build of MicCast may include Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to diagnose crashes. When enabled, these tools may process app‑interaction events, approximate/coarse usage data, and technical device and crash information (such as device model, Android version, and stack traces). They do not receive your microphone audio. These events are non‑audio and are used only to improve stability and the app experience. If this build does not include Firebase, no analytics or crash data is collected.
We do not sell your personal information. Information described above (advertising and, where enabled, analytics/crash data) is processed by Google as a third‑party service provider under its own privacy terms. We do not share your microphone audio with anyone because we never collect it.
MicCast does not retain your microphone audio. App preferences (such as your selected theme, preset, and buffer mode) are stored locally on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app. Advertising and analytics data are retained by Google according to its policies.
MicCast is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will address it.
Because MicCast processes audio locally and does not upload it, your voice is not exposed to network transfer by the app. We use standard Android platform protections and keep third‑party SDKs up to date.
MicCast is a voice‑amplification utility. It is not a hearing aid, not a medical device, and not intended for emergency communication.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
