Privacy Policy

Convertly: File Converter (com.zavistudio.convertly) by Zavi Studio

Effective date: October 3, 2026

The short version

This Privacy Policy explains how Zavi Studio ("we", "us") handles information when you use the Convertly Android app ("the app"). By using the app you agree to this policy.

1. Your files

All conversions — images, PDF, audio, video and ZIP — happen locally on your phone using Android's built-in media tools and libraries bundled in the app. Files you pick or share into Convertly are read only to perform the conversion you asked for, and results are saved where you choose (by default Download/Convertly).

We do not upload your files to any server, we do not have access to their contents, and we do not use them for any purpose other than the conversion on your device.

Convertly does not request broad storage access. It uses the Android system file picker and share sheet, so it can only open the files you explicitly select.

2. Information stored on your device

To provide features like History, the app keeps the following only on your device:

This data is not sent to us and is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. You can remove history items inside the app, or delete everything by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.

3. Information collected by third-party services

The app uses the following Google services. They may collect information as described below and in their own privacy policies.

Google AdMob (advertising)

Convertly is free and supported by ads (banner and native ads). AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device and app information, and ad interaction data in order to show, personalise (where permitted) and measure ads, and to prevent fraud.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, or another region where consent is required, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent message before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice later from the app, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Android settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads, wording varies by device).

How Google uses information from apps that use its services

Firebase Analytics (usage analytics)

We use Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used and whether conversions succeed — for example "image converted to JPG" or "video conversion failed". We never send file names, file contents or file paths. The advertising ID is not collected by Analytics.

Analytics can be switched off at any time in Settings › Usage analytics. Where consent is required, analytics storage is only enabled after your consent choice.

Firebase privacy information

Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports)

If the app crashes, Crashlytics may send a crash report containing technical details such as device model, Android version, app version and the error stack trace, together with a random installation identifier. Crash reports do not include your files or their names. Crash reporting follows the same Settings switch as analytics.

Google Play In-App Review

The app may occasionally show Google Play's rating prompt. Ratings and reviews are handled by Google Play under Google's privacy policy; we do not receive your account details.

Data sent to Google services is encrypted in transit. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Permissions

Convertly does not request camera, microphone, contacts, location or broad storage permissions.

6. Data retention and deletion

Because we do not receive your files or history, there is nothing on our side to delete for them. On-device data is removed when you delete history items, clear app data or uninstall the app. Data collected by Google services is retained according to Google's policies; Firebase Analytics data is kept for a limited retention period configured in our Firebase project. To ask us about analytics or crash data linked to your installation, contact us at the address below.

7. Children

Convertly is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise most choices directly in the app (analytics switch, ad consent) and in Android settings (advertising ID). For any other request, email us.

9. Security

Processing your files on the device means they are never exposed to network transfer by us. We follow Android security best practices, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app or on the Play Store listing.
