Privacy Policy

Privacy Permission Manager ("the App") is an Android application developed by Zavi Studio. This app is designed to help you understand and audit the permissions and access levels granted to apps installed on your Android device.

We are fully committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app accesses, why it accesses it, and how it is handled. Please read it carefully.

Privacy Permission Manager does not collect, store remotely, or transmit any personally identifiable information. The following data is accessed and processed locally on your device only:

• List of installed applications (package names, app labels)
• Permissions declared and granted to each installed app
• Special app capabilities (Accessibility, Device Admin, VPN, Notification Listener services)
• App usage statistics (screen time per app) — only if you grant Usage Access permission
• App risk scores computed locally from permission analysis

The app requires the following Android system permissions to function. Each permission is used solely for local analysis — never for data collection.

  Reads the list of installed apps and their declared permissions for risk analysis. Results are stored locally only.

  Sends a local notification when a new app is installed on your device, so you can review its permissions immediately.

  Reads foreground screen-time statistics per app. Only used to show the App Usage screen within the app. This is an optional, user-granted special permission.

  Allows the app to restore its monitoring state after the device restarts, so newly installed app alerts continue to work.

All data accessed by the app is used exclusively for the following on-device purposes:

• Risk scoring — Calculating a risk level (Low / Medium / High) for each installed app based on its granted permissions and special capabilities.
• Permission auditing — Displaying a detailed breakdown of what each app can access on your device.
• Snapshot comparison — Taking periodic snapshots of installed apps to detect newly installed applications since the last scan.
• Local notifications — Alerting you when a new app is installed so you can review its permissions.
• Usage analytics — Displaying per-app screen time in the App Usage section (only if Usage Access permission is granted).

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any of your data to third parties under any circumstances. Specifically:

• No data is uploaded to any server, cloud, or backend
• No analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs are integrated into the app
• No crash reporting services with remote data collection are used
• The app functions entirely offline — no internet permission is declared in the manifest

All data generated by the app is stored in a local SQLite database (via Android Room) on your device's private internal storage. This storage is:

• Private — accessible only to this app, sandboxed by Android's security model
• On-device only — never backed up to cloud services (backup is disabled in the app manifest)
• User-controlled — can be cleared at any time via Settings → Apps → Privacy Permission Manager → Clear Data
• Removed on uninstall — all app data is permanently deleted when the app is uninstalled

The app stores two snapshots: the current scan result and a previous baseline snapshot used to detect newly installed apps. No historical data beyond these two states is retained.

Privacy Permission Manager does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or remote services. The app uses only Android platform APIs and the following open-source libraries, all of which operate entirely on-device:

• Android Jetpack (Room, Navigation, Compose) — local UI and database
• Google Gson — local JSON serialization for share/export features only
• Kotlin Coroutines — local async processing

The only external service involved is the Google Play Store, which distributes the app. Google's own privacy policy governs Play Store data handling.

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the app does not collect any personal information from any users, there is no specific risk to children's privacy.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us and we will address the concern promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's functionality or legal requirements. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via the app or Play Store release notes.
